About

One of two fish I've caught in my lifetime.
The biggest.
I'm a freelance writer, proofreader, copyeditor and journalist, available for hire.
Writing can take you to unexpected places. Shakespeare can transport you to the City of Love or the Battle of Agincourt. Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment places you in the mind of a narcissistic murderer with a Napoleon complex. The works of Jules Verne can take readers on fantastical journeys underwater, underground, or circumnavigating the globe.
My writing career took me to Kazakhstan.
The year was 2019, and I was working as a journalist for World Finance magazine in London. Out of the blue, I received an email asking me if I wanted to cover the latest edition of Astana Finance Days, a new conference highlighting the capital city’s growing reputation as a global financial centre. I accepted straight away. It was interesting. It was different. I got to write about a topic that I wouldn’t otherwise have considered.
Writing continues to open my eyes to new worlds. Sometimes it’s by hopping on a plane and visiting a technology symposium. Sometimes it’s from my desk. But it’s always a creative journey.
